How online rum auctions work
Auction results have always been the benchmark for market values, and that of rum is no exception. However, the last few years have seen the explosion of a new phenomenon, destined to change forever this sector: the online auction houses.

How to start selling
Selling on Rumtrades is easy. Register for free, click on the 'Sell' button on the top bar and enter the bottles you wish to sell. Shortly afterwards you will receive an email confirming your lots registration and the sell side mandate, that you’ll need to print and send together with the bottles.
For sending the lots, we recommend you to choose a courier that you trust.
For larger collections or special items, Rumtrades offers a free pick-up service upon request.
Minimum selling price
If you are wondering how to reach a minimum selling price, the answer is simple: place a reserve price. The reserve price is the amount below which the seller is not willing to sell his lot.
During the bottle registration, you will have the opportunity to decide whether to place one, guaranteeing that your lot will not be sold below the amount you wish.
If at the end of the auction the lot does not reach the reserve price, you can choose whether to simply enter it in the next auction or get it back.
Receive payments
Once the auction is finished, buyers must pay for their order within 3 days: the seller will receive the payment approximately 2 weeks from the shipment of the order, minus the 5% auction fee.

Once we have received your bottle(s), we will confirm the quality and condition of the items and if acceptable we will get to work in preparing them for auction. We will take professional photographs, create accurate and clear lot descriptions and begin work on promoting your bottles to our global audience of rum enthusiasts.
