Crafted in small batches and finished in French oak casks from 'Le Bois Du Roy'.
THE BRAND
Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala was founded in Guatemala in 1914 by five Spanish brothers Venancio, Andrés, Jesús, Alejandro and Felipe Botran. Its the largest distillery of the country and produces a plethora of spirits, including the world famous Zacapa and the Botran, named after the founders.
The distillery operates a two-column stainless steel still, that stands 23 meters tall and designed to be able to withstand high winds.
The wash made from the freshly pressed sugarcane ‘honey’, is fermented for up to 120 hours and is the result of the first stage in molasses production, providing a typical lighter product compared to others molasses based.
