A 'rhum vieux agricole' from La Favorite, distilled in 1993.
THE BRAND
La Favorite is one of the last independent distilleries in Martinique. It was established in 1842 on the remains of a sugar refinery called Les Jambettes before being renamed La Favorite in 1851. In 1909, when Henri Dormoy bought it, he made some improvements to turn the sugar refinery into a distillery. La Favorite ceased operations in 1938 and production only resumed when of his sons, André Dormoy, took over the family business and completely renovated in 1956. The distillery operates two creole columns stills, one of which, the copper still, dated 1940. To this day, all bottles are labelled and wax sealed by hand.
Please note: Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit. Please ensure that you undertake close up viewing/inspection prior to placing any bid.
