THE BRAND
The origins of the Compañia Licorera de Nicaragua (CLDN) better known as Flor De Caña, dates back to 1890, when Pellas family from Genoa, Italy, moved to Nicaragua to establish a sugarcane plantation at the base of the San Cristobal volcano. The distillery was built in 1937 and from 60s to 90s is equipped with the most modern technologies in the sector. Survived several events like civil war, earthquakes and eruptions, the company is proudly ran by the fifth Pellas family generation. Productions starts from molasses produced in their own sugar factory and distillation takes place in a multi-column still according to Spanish-style traditions.
